Mirality AI Robotics
AI Robotics Systems Development Studio
The Fishing Daily is partnering with Mirality, an AI Robotics Systems Development Studio, to drive the next generation of seafood production.
After observing the growing demand for AI robotics in the seafood sector, Juan Leandro Sanchez Perez, founding member, has established a new branch within the INGUBU family dedicated specifically to this field.
Designed to support seafood processors, vessel operators, and exporters, Mirality offers solutions that enhance efficiency and performance across the entire seafood value chain.
Through this exclusive partnership, The Fishing Daily will serve as the sole point of contact for companies seeking to adopt Mirality’s AI tools, providing both access and onboarding support.
Addressing the Labour Shortage
Remote-Operated Robotics for Fish ProcessingAn Introduction to Mirality and Human-in-the-Loop Workforce Solutions
The Challenge We All Know
The fish processing industry faces a critical challenge: there simply aren’t enough workers.
Processing facilities across the country struggle to fill essential positions, leading to reduced capacity, longer working hours for staff, and missed opportunities during peak seasons.
Traditional automation hasn’t solved this issue.
Robotics designed for car factories are too rigid and expensive for the dynamic, hands-on nature of fish processing. Meanwhile, the
worker shortage continues to grow, as expenses increase.
A Different Approach: Human Skill Meets Robotic Reach
Mirality is pioneering a practical solution called remote-operated robotics, combining human judgment with robotic capability to close the workforce gap.
How It Works
Instead of trying to program robots to work independently (which current AI isn’t yet capable of in complex environments like fish processing), Mirality’s system enables skilled operators to control robots remotely in real time using advanced VR interfaces.
The process is simple:
● Robots are deployed on your processing floor.
● Trained operators control these robots remotely via secure, low-latency connections.
● Operators see what the robot sees and guide its movements with precision.
● The robot performs the physical work under continuous human supervision.
Think of it as extending your workforce beyond geographical limits, allowing skilled labour from anywhere to work safely and effectively in your facility

Why This Matters Now
Human-in-the-Loop (HIL) technology bridges the gap between today’s labor shortages and tomorrow’s automation. By keeping humans involved, we ensure:
● Consistent quality: Human judgment guides every action.
● Safety: Operators can halt work instantly if needed.
● Flexibility: Easily handle the natural variability of fish processing.
● Continuous learning: Every shift generates data that helps refine and improve performance.
This isn’t about replacing your team. It’s about supporting the roles you can’t fill.
Why Mirality AI Robotics?
Mirality focuses exclusively on solving real workforce challenges through achievable robotics, not speculative AI promises.
Our Current Stage
We’re running proof-of-concept trials with fish processing facilities to validate that
remote-operated robotics can meet the physical and operational demands of the job.
We’ve already demonstrated reliable long-distance operation, proving that network
connectivity and latency are no longer barriers to practical deployment.
What Makes Us Different
● Realistic expectations: Human-guided robotics, not overhyped AI.
● Industry focus: Tailored for fish processing, not general-purpose automation.
● Skilled operators: Specifically trained for food processing environments.
● Scalable approach: Start small with 1–2 robots, expand as results prove value
The Technology Explained
Remote Operation:
Robots are controlled by trained operators located off-site, much like drone pilots guiding aircraft. The operator sees through the robot’s cameras and directs its movements in real time.
Human-in-the-Loop (HIL):
Humans stay actively involved in every task. The robot doesn’t make decisions on its own; each action is guided or supervised to ensure safety and quality.
The Path Forward
As operators guide robots through thousands of real-world tasks, the system learns. Over time, this allows gradual efficiency gains, eventually enabling one operator to oversee multiple robots. But we start simple: one operator, one robot, proving value through reliability and safety first.
What This Means for Your Processing Facility
Immediate Benefits:
● Fill unstaffed positions without compromising on quality.
● Maintain capacity even during labor shortages.
● Reduce strain on existing staff by handling repetitive or strenuous tasks.
● Scale flexibly based on seasonal demand.
Proof-of-Concept Approach:
We’re not asking for a major transformation overnight. Our pilots begin with 1–2 robots focused on specific, measurable tasks. Together, we assess performance against clear metrics, and iterate based on real data.
If it works, we scale. If not, we learn and improve.
About Mirality AI Robotics
Mirality develops practical robotics solutions for industries facing acute labor shortages.
Our team combines expertise in robotics, AI, and industrial operations to build systems that work in real-world conditions, not just research labs.
We’re currently collaborating with facilities across Ireland and Europe to validate our remote-operated approach through hands-on pilot programs.
Our goal is simple: help you sustain and grow operations despite workforce constraints.
The Mirality AI Robotics Team
Juan Leandro Sánchez Pérez – Building Useful AI for Real Work
Juan Leandro Sánchez Pérez is the Founder & CEO of Mirality.io, where he turns advanced AI into tools that solve everyday problems in tough, hands-on industries like fish processing. With more than 15 years leading software and innovation teams, Juan blends deep technical know-how with a simple goal: build systems that make skilled work faster, safer, and easier to scale.
Before Mirality, Juan led R&D and product initiatives across Europe, guiding projects that joined large-language-model AI with practical on-the-ground needs. His work has been recognized in EU-backed innovation programs and industry awards, and he’s known for getting ideas out of the lab and into the factory; quickly and reliably.
At Mirality, Juan focuses on human-in-the-loop robotics and AI assistance: technology that supports people rather than replacing them. The result is straightforward; better consistency, higher throughput, and resilient operations when labour is tight. Juan’s philosophy is simple: innovation should serve communities and strengthen essential industries.
