Forecasters have advised that a Status Orange Marine Warning remains in place for Coastal Areas on the Irish coast with severe gales warnings issued for the UK coasts.
In Ireland, Met Éireann has a Status Orange Gale Warning remains in place with Westerly winds will reach gale force 8 or strong gale 9 today on all Irish coastal waters and on the Irish Sea, occasionally touching storm force 10.
A Status Yellow – Snow/Ice warning continues for Ireland. Widespread wintry showers on Monday and Tuesday with some snowfall accumulations, especially in the west and north. Some disruption to travel is possible, particularly over higher routes. The warning remains valid from until 23:59 tonight, Tuesday.
In the UK, the Met Office has a Yellow Wind and Snow warning in place until midnight tonight.
The Met Office has issued a strong gale warning with westerly winds of gale force 9 sweeping all coastal areas accompanied by squally showers in southern areas but further north the showers will be thundery. Visibility is forecasted to be good to occasionally poor.
