Seafish have announced a deadline extension for for PFD-PLB Funding Scheme

Seafish have announced that the deadline for applications for the current grant aided funding scheme for personal flotation devices (PFDs) with personal locator beacons (PLB) project has been extended for one month.

The scheme was due to end on 31 March 2020.

It will now be possible for owners of UK registered commercial fishing vessels to apply for funding towards the cost of equipping your crew with this vital life-saving equipment until Thursday 30 April 2020.

Simon Potten, Head of Safety and Training at Seafish said: “We’re pleased to be able to extend the deadline for the funding scheme, however we appreciate that in the current climate people may struggle to purchase this equipment. As a result, we are also ring-fencing funding so all successful applicants will have up to 3 months from receipt of their approval letter to make their purchase and send in their claim. Funding will still be allocated on a first come first served basis, so don’t delay sending in your application.”
