James Anderson, skipper of the Alison Kay, is the new Chair of the Shetland Fishermen’s Association
It’s all change at the top of Shetland Fishermen’s Association, with Leslie Tait standing down as Chair after 13 years.
His successor is Alison Kay skipper James Anderson, who chaired the association briefly in the past.
Leslie will however remain involved with the SFA after being appointed Honorary President. He is set to stand down from his role as Vice President of the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation in August.
SFA executive officer Simon Collins said: “We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Leslie, whose knowledge and insight has been invaluable during his tenure.
“James is a fisherman of vast experience and will be an excellent Chair of the association as we move into a new era for the industry.”
