The MMO states that following high demand, the extended Fisheries and Seafood Scheme 2024 application period has now closed

The Fisheries and Seafood Scheme (FaSS) has closed to new applications following a surge in demand from the fisheries and seafood sectors.

The scheme, managed by the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) on behalf of Defra, temporarily reopened on May 24 after an additional £2 million in funding was allocated.

Applications to the FaSS were processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Currently, the MMO is reviewing the applications that were submitted before the cut-off. All applications acknowledged by the MMO’s grants team will still be assessed, and the team will reach out to recent applicants who have not yet received an acknowledgment to guide them on the next steps.

Key Points:

– Applications submitted on or after 12:00 PM on June 10, 2024, will not be considered.

– Projects funded under the FaSS must be completed by the scheme’s closure on March 31, 2025.

– Details of successful applications will be published online soon.
