Northern Ireland’s new Fisheries Minister, Edwin Poots, MLA has approved new conservation measures to help protect the Brown Crab stock in Northern Irish water.
One of the protective measures is an increase in minimum landing size. More information is to follow on the measures.
The news of the changes has been welcomed by ANIFPO who said “Brown Crab is the 3rd most valuable stock species landed into Northern Ireland. Let’s hope the Northern Ireland Assembly can complete the process quickly and these measures are applied very soon.”
