SafetyNet Technologies and Marks and Spencer partner to giveaway a CatchCam Underwater Video Camera
SafetyNet Technologies has partnered with Marks and Spencer to give one person the chance to win a full CatchCam underwater video camera kit with all the trimmings worth over £5000.
The kit will include a CatchCam camera, LED lamp, rapid heavy-duty charger and even a Samsung Galaxy A7 tablet with the CatchCam App pre-installed. They’re also offering a second prize of 50% off CatchCam and a third prize of 25% off CatchCam.
This comes as part of Marks and Spencer’s pioneering work to implement best practices in their wild caught fish supply chain. Commenting on the importance of underwater cameras in the fishing industry, the spokesperson said “M&S believe we can improve how we catch our fish. By seeing what the fishing gears are doing, fishers are enabled to make rapid improvements [to their gear] that benefit fish stocks, the marine ecosystem, fish welfare and the quality of the produce to our customers.”

SafetyNet Technologies are thrilled that Marks and Spencer are sponsoring this competition. A spokesperson for the UK retailer said “We are delighted to show our commitment to better wild fisheries by sponsoring a CatchCam and look forward to seeing it out on fishing gears making a difference.”
CatchCam is an underwater video camera that is designed specifically for commercial fishing. Using CatchCam, you can film inside your fishing gear in depths of up to 164 fathoms. The small yet robust underwater camera has an impressive battery life and can record over 40 hours of footage on a single charge. As a result, you and your crew can get valuable information on your gear performance.

Fishermen around the UK are already using CatchCam to improve the efficiency and sustainability of their gear and profitability of their businesses. For example, the underwater camera has helped crews improve the ground contact of their prawn nets or figure out the most effective bait to use in their pots to catch certain species. This competition is an opportunity to join them in using CatchCam to remove the guesswork from fishing. Entries close at midnight on Friday 05 May 2023. SafetyNet Technologies and Marks and Spencer will be announcing the winner on Friday 12 May 2023.
