XTRATUF has marked a second year of support for The Fishermen’s Mission, raising £3,359 to help fishermen and their families across the UK as the partnership moves into year three.
Funding Aims To Back 24/7 Emergency Support
The contribution supports the charity’s round‑the‑clock response for accidents or illness at sea and wider welfare services that assist families facing financial hardship and mental health challenges.
Impact in Numbers
According to the partners, this year’s funds could help deliver:
• 134 hours of a Port Welfare Officer, enabling approximately 140 mental health referrals.
• Around 130 grant applications for financial aid.
• ~67 supermarket food vouchers to ease pressure on oversubscribed food banks.
• 130 welfare visits to combat loneliness.
• One month’s gas and electricity for 22 families.
• Emergency financial aid and crisis support for up to 30 fishermen.
Partnership Statement
Dean Lawrence, Corporate Partnerships Manager at The Fishermen’s Mission, said: “This partnership demonstrates the real difference long-term collaboration can make. XTRATUF’s continued commitment directly supports our ability to deliver life-saving and life-changing services to fishermen across the UK.”
How Supporters Can Get Involved
As the collaboration enters its third year, XTRATUF is backing challenge events with the charity, including places in the Loch Ness Marathon (September 2026) and London Marathon (2027). Supporters interested in running and fundraising can contact the charity’s team at [email protected].
