A Major Newbuild for the Dutch Pelagic Sector

Tersan Shipyard has officially delivered the new 111.5‑metre pelagic freezer‑trawler Annie Hillina to Dutch company Parlevliet & Van der Plas, marking one of the most significant fleet additions of 2026.

The vessel, built under hull number NB1119 and designed by longstanding partner Skipsteknisk, is homeported in IJmuiden, the Netherlands.

Designed for Efficiency, Sustainability, and Reduced Emissions

Annie Hillina is equipped with a Wärtsilä 32 main engine, one of the most fuel‑efficient engines in its class. The ship’s design focuses heavily on lowering fuel consumption, emissions, and noise, and employs environmentally friendly refrigerants throughout its cooling, freezing, and storage systems. These features place the vessel among the most advanced and environmentally responsible trawlers of its type.

Built for Global Pelagic Operations

The new trawler is purpose‑designed for global pelagic operations and will work across European, South Pacific, and West African waters, targeting herring, sardines, mackerel, horse mackerel, and blue whiting. All catch will be frozen immediately onboard and delivered for 100% human consumption, maintaining high product quality while supporting global seafood markets.

Crew Accommodation and Onboard Facilities

Reflecting the company’s emphasis on crew welfare, Annie Hillina offers accommodation for up to 60 people, including spacious living quarters, a sauna, and fitness facilities. The design highlights a modern standard of comfort for today’s pelagic crews, ensuring that fishermen working long rotations at sea have reliable and comfortable onboard conditions.

A Milestone in the Tersan–P&P Partnership

The delivery represents the fourth vessel built by Tersan for Parlevliet & Van der Plas, reinforcing a longstanding partnership stretching back more than a decade. Previous newbuilds include the M/V Kirkella, M/V Mark, and the 88‑metre Jan Maria, delivered in 2024.

According to Tersan Shipyard’s General Manager Mehmet Gazioğlu, the project underscores the companies’ shared commitment to “innovation, sustainability, and responsibility towards the future of maritime.”

Tersan Shipyard added:

“We take immense pride in every hand and every mind that brought Annie Hillina to life; a true collective achievement sailing into the future.

“A proud milestone among many deliveries this year, shaping the future of sustainable fishing. We are proud of the joint success of every mind and every effort that contributed to its construction.”

Departing for Katwijk and Entering Service

Following delivery, Annie Hillina departed from Tersan Shipyard and is now en route to its homeport of IJmuiden,, where it will begin its operational programme. As the largest and most advanced vessel built for the company to date, it is expected to play a central role in P&P’s global pelagic operations.
