Perhaps what Howth is most recognised for in the boating world is being home to Ireland largest yacht club, which was first founded in 1895 making it over 125 years old. Featuring a relatively new club house which was constructed in 1987.  Although Howth contains a large number of yachts and small boats, it is still an active fishing port with some boat maintenance taking place on site.

As Howth’s, reputation as an enjoyable and scenic getaway continues to grow so does its visitors, with each passing holiday break more and more people come to discover it for themselves. What makes Howth even more enticing is that it is only a mere 15 kilometres away from Dublin city centre.

Like all ports around Ireland, seafood lovers are spoiled for choice with Howth offering up some rustic, hearty seafood restaurants along with the occasional pub or two. Howth serves up some of the most exquisite views of the landscape and sea that Ireland has to offer, especially when taking a cliff top walk.  There is also a 15^th century castle plus a ruined abbey for those looking to take in some breathtakingly visual history of which Howth has to show.

Howth beauty has been taken to the big screen on a number of occasions by featuring in prominent movies, and its clear to see why.
